Overview
The Job in a Nutshell:
The Director of Training is accountable for the establishment and management of all learning curriculums, including designing and developing experiential learning opportunities through instructional materials, training courses, and multimedia technologies and oversees all training initiatives, aligning learning strategies and programs to business strategies to realize measurable business impact. Learning curriculum includes but is not limited to store operational practices, store and company policies and procedures, leadership development, and customer service expectations and practices. This role collaborates cross-functionally and cross-departmentally with all business leaders, to identify and create action plans to address gaps in learning. The position will leverage the knowledge and experience of subject matter experts throughout the organization, and direct the activities of the Content Development, Training Center, and SMART Program teams. This position reports to the VP of Operations.
Responsibilities
Main Ingredients:
Develops, directs, and approves training and curricula, in partnership with the VP of Operations and other subject matter experts.
Works cross-departmentally to support all departments in their training needs.
Ensures training programs supports company culture and content accurately represents current processes and policies and is adjusted and updated based on the changing needs of the business and any new initiatives.
Continually stays abreast of current learning and development trends, technology, and practices.
Designs and implements distance learning strategies, including virtual classroom learning and self-paced web-based training for both technical and professional/management development training topics.
Evolves and enhances new employee program offerings; including the new employee orientation experience to drive culture and employee engagement and to inspire our Crew to become brand champions who want to grow their career with us.
Utilizes innovative learning practices, research, insight, experience and understanding of the needs and culture of our company, to develop and deliver instructor led, e-learning, or blended learning content and programs.
Develops and implements employee feedback processes to enhance learning programs and materials.
Ensure all learning content and programs are current and have gone through proper review cycles (i.e. regulatory, legal, etc.).
Identifies and partners with subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organization.
Partners with Regional Managers/ Vice Presidents/Department Heads to deploy all training and development programs to build a strong foundation for learning and creates a culture of learning.
Ensures that all development programs meet stated objectives through analyzing metrics and business impact.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Recruits and hires training Crew.
Oversees the daily activities of training associates and consultants.
Approves training content prior to release.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Qualifications
Recipe for Success:
Bachelor’s Degree or related technical college program or equivalent combination of education and training experience preferred.
Impeccable follow-up and follow-through skills to meet company deadlines required.
Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant training experience including work in a multi-site environment/organization.
Experience in leadership development, needs assessment, instructional design/content development within a corporate learning & development setting.
Experience with E-learning systems
Customer focused, and proven track record of respect and building relationships with field operations.
Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills to successfully work across the organization.
Excellent verbal/written communications skills.
Coaching and strong influencing skills are mandatory as well as being comfortable interacting with all levels of team members.
Highly developed analytical skills and data savvy.
Flexible, highly adaptable.
Prior experience in the natural foods industry preferred.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks requiring deadlines.
Possesses strong organizational skills and has strong attention to detail.
Works well under stress with interruptions and deadlines.
Must be self-motivated with a high degree of personal integrity and professionalism.
Possesses advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Experience with LMS and Training Development platforms. Schoox experience a plus.
Experience with inventory management systems. SAP/ERP Experience a plus.
