KMBC/KCWE, the ABC/CW affiliates in Kansas City, have an opening for an experienced and dynamic Director of Studio Operations. Successful candidate will oversee studio operations including weekly production of more than 55+ hours of live newscasts in addition to weekly community affairs show "Heart of the Matter." This is a department head level position who will report to KMBC/KCWE President and General Manager and work closely with station's Director of Engineering, News Director, and other department heads.
Responsibilities
Lead newscast directors and engineering operators involved in the production of newscasts. Lead the implementation of new technology in the studio and production control room. Set standard operating procedures. Manage use of studio.Requirements
5 years of previous production experience is required. Extensive knowledge of broadcast news production. Experience with Ignite automation production control or similar automated production system preferred. Related military experience will be considered.Diversity Statement
