ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Strategic leader serving as a key partner to the executive team. Responsible for providing strong leadership, guidance and execution across the organization particularly as it pertains to key projects and initiatives. The scope of the role will be nimble therefore requiring strong mental agility, business acumen, communication skills and ability to lead teams both from in the trenches and at arms-length. Ultimately, the creation of this position will drive greater operational focus, generate strategic and commercial wins and encourage a change-the-business mentality at Community Bank System.
This position will report to the CFO.
Initial scope of the role:
Drive strategy execution for the firm including both near and long-term objectives to generate sustainable growth, revenue diversification and risk-balanced returns for shareholdersDeep understanding of the business and key processes, as well as industry trends and competitive landscape across each business lineIdentify and champion cross-collaboration opportunitiesLead strategic planning process along with the CEO and senior management teamDesign a strategic roadmap and select key milestones, KPIs, financial metrics to guide the organizationCollaboratively lead large cross-functional teams on critical strategic and operational projects leveraging diverse background and commercial mindset to drive operational excellence and desired financial outcomes. Projects will initially satisfy these primary areas:Transformational or change-the-business orientationGenerate non-bank revenue and EBITDA growth Build of infrastructure critical to setting the strategic roadmap and generating actionable insights for the organizationDevelop vision for client service models and collaborate with internal and external parties to implement Drive fintech partnerships including sourcing deals, ideation, business case development, negotiations, integration, piloting etc Partner with C-suite to set mission and purpose for the organization Participate in acquisition sourcing and deal processes, negotiations and execution Assist business unit leaders in key initiatives
Qualifications5+ years of experience in professional services (management consulting, investment banking, private equity or corporate development)Deep knowledge of M&A, finance and technologyStrong analytical and modeling skills with attention to detailsAbility to deliver accurate work product on timeCandidate with executive presence, multiple stakeholder skills and project management & communication skills. Product ManagementConsulting / investment banking experience at a top-tier firm preferred
