The Director of Risk, Portfolio Strategy & Operationswill lead investment operations and reporting and work closely with the CIO ontotal portfolio oversight, including strategic and tactical assetallocation, performance analytics, and risk analytics for a complex,multi-asset-class portfolio. The Office of Investments' mission isto support the funding of TNC's global conservation priorities byincreasing the organization's purchasing power through prudent andsustainable investment management. The Office of Investments, under theleadership of TNC's CIO, works on all aspects of the managementand monitoring of the endowment and other long-term pools of capital in excessof $4B. The Nature Conservancy's investment assets support theorganization's global operations and most pressing conservationprojects. The Director of Risk, Portfolio Strategy &Operations is a senior member of TNC's investment team and supportsthe CIO in the day-to-day oversight of the investment portfolios under theCIO's purview. Responsibilities involve leading 1) investmentoperations, including accounting, back and middle office functions, 2)performance measurement, analytics, and reporting 3) total portfoliorisk measurement, analytics, and monitoring, and 4) strategic andtactical asset allocation. The Director of Risk, Portfolio Strategy& Operations will review current processes and suggest new ideasto improve team efficiency. They will communicate on behalf of the Office ofInvestments and will have substantial contact with stakeholders, includingall levels of staff, Investment Committee members, third-party investmentmanagers, and service providers. RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE*Lead investment operations, including accounting, back office and middleoffice functions* Lead operational due diligence of prospective and currentfund managers* Monitor and manage total endowment cash flow and liquidityprojections* Lead performance calculation, analytics, attribution, andcomprehensive reporting* Using various analytic tools, measure and monitortotal portfolio risk * Lead the strategic and tactical asset allocationanalysis with support fro the Investment team* Collaborate with the CIO toensure compliance with investment policies and develop tools for portfoliorisk monitoring and modeling * Manage and oversee all investment operationsactivities including cash management, liquidity management,subscription/redemption processes, accounting, audit and tax relatedrequests * Lead oversight of other long-term pools of capital outside ofTNC's endowment (i.e., Planned Giving, Nature Bonds, 401kPlans)* Establish and maintain appropriate policies, internal controls,and documentation to ensure sound operational management. This isan exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing mission of conservationby directing and shaping the work of our team!WHAT YOU'LL BRINGMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science,Math, Business, Finance, Economics, and/or a related field and 11years related work experience, including at the senior level, orequivalent combination of education and experience.* Experience working withsenior management and Board of Directors, or equivalent, on investmentrelated issues* Experience in investment operations, operational duediligence, risk management, asset allocation at an endowment,foundation, other asset owners, OCIO, or asset manager* Experienceacross multiple asset classes, including private equity, fixed income,hedge funds, and private equity* Experience supervising professionalstaffDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS* MBA, PhD, CFA, CAIA, and/or relevantadvance degrees or professional investment qualifications preferred.*Knowledgeable about endowment management.
