Palo Alto Networks has built a world-class product management organization and continues to look for top-notch product managers to collaborate with our talented engineers to tackle challenging security problems. As a senior NGFW hardware product manager, you will play an instrumental role in conceptualizing and building innovative security solutions.
Your Impact
Building HW products necessitates the candidate is good at the following:
Ability to anticipate the scale and build a HW product for 10X scale that can handle future requirements of its target customers - Must have the ability to think what defines future - If AI, Cloud, Mobility, or Security defines the use-cases in the next few years, then HW product should be ready to handle those trendsForecast - should be efficient at forecasting units to maintain optimal levels of inventorySupplier relations - HW PM should understand how to deal with suppliers, COGS commitment and interact to ensure vendor roadmaps are understoodRegulation - Should be aware of global and regional regulations and ensure that the product complies with all regulationsUnderstand Testing - HW has to undergo drastic testing unlike SW - Not just functional testing but other testing related to mechanical, climatic, environmental, reliability etc - Further the build process is different from SW with lots of validations (EVT, DVT, PVT etc)Stay abreast of the latest trends in platform security Define roadmaps, product requirements and manage requirements backlogRun design programs to validate new product ideas with customers Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing & Supply Chain to deliver next-gen platform solutionsEnable sales and marketing with market insights and product trainingCollaborate with customer success and field organization to delight customersCollaborate with other Palo Alto Networks product teams to bring integrated security solutions to market with unique customer value proposition Qualifications Your Experience
BS/MS in EE or Computer Science preferred Desirable to have MBA qualification or equivalent military experience required10+ years of product management experience, ideally building systems including HW/SW productsStrong domain experience in networking/switching, and preferably cybersecurityStrong experience defining and driving ASIC/networking products, with domain expertise in enterprise networking, data center, and service provider segments Experience in driving high velocity product releases using Agile methodologyExperience in building products in a hyper-growth market with rapidly changing technology and a competitive landscapeExperience in making product decisions based on imperfect market dataExcellent clarity and critical thinking skills, supported by a robust analytical skillsetExceptional verbal & written communication skills to influence & communicate with all levels of managementExperience partnering with leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver resultsEffective program management skills & demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic initiativesHigh-energy self-starter that thrives in fast-paced environmentsBachelor's degree or equivalent military experience required Additional Information The Team

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $202,400/yr to $327,350/yr.
