  Job Description

  The opportunity

  As the Director of Pharmacy Benefits, you will be a key member of our distribution team, working alongside our team of Account Executives across Canada to support them in various client facing endeavors. This includes support for finalist presentations, advisor support meetings, consultant house resource meetings and as an overall resource for the distribution team to help in delivering significant pharmacy benefit management programs to our customers in a constantly evolving pharmacy environment.

  Responsibilities

  Meeting regularly with partners internally and externally: Product team as subject matter authority, Distribution team as a presenter to the internal Account Executives and Management team, disseminating new product features, pharmacy industry updates.

  Participation in client finalist presentations as a pharmacy expert. Participation in advisor knowledge sharing events such as road shows, capabilities presentations for advisor and consulting firms.

  Active participation in finalist presentations and team support throughout the year. Attendance as requested based on size of customer.

  Maintain log of presentations across geographies and share as part of year-end review process. Pharmacy approach may be cited as a reason for winning new business or in retaining a client.

  Keeping track of presentations and knowledge shared in presentations, sharing this as part of year-end review process.

  How will you create impact?

  Success is measured in participation in complex client situations relating to drug programs where understanding is needed by internal teams to ensure we are paying claims accurately in accordance with our contracts. This can be measured in terms of what customers you have taken an active role in running their pharmacy program and any suggestions we have made to a customer to refine their pharmacy program which they have adopted.

  Active support of consulting house capabilities presentations. Maintain relationships with consultants and advisors through meetings and networking to ensure consultants understand our pharmacy offerings and feel they have a communication channel into Manulife.

  Staying in tune with constantly evolving pharmaceutical and health care landscape

  Influence across all areas of GB and at all levels on product strategies

  Manage risk within the product portfolio.

  What we are looking for

  Strong financial competence

  Licensed pharmacist in Canada

  Bachelor's degree in a related field; MBA would be an asset.

  Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in group benefits and/or the pharmaceutical ecosystem, such as Product Manager, Pharmacist, Pharmacy consulting, Pharma market access

  Strong Group/Pharmacy Benefits knowledge, including Manulife's current Pharmacy Benefits product offering.

  Be on the forefront of Canadian Group Benefits industry trends (current and future) and identifying areas of opportunity.

  Understanding of the changing landscape of healthcare and advances in medical/pharmaceutical technology and the impact this has on health outcomes.

  Ability to work across a complex environment – both internally and externally to lead teams with multiple mandates and differing value drivers.

  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  Ontario based and willingness to travel.

  Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
