A company in the Transportation industry currently has an opportunity for a position offered on a long-term contract basis with potential for hire.
Key responsibilities
Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis
Support payroll staff and operations (10+)
In this position, you will work on weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs. Interpret pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and ensure right amounts/deductions are applied to the earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws
Manage and monitor all internal and external audits
Work with other members of senior Finance leadership team to finish tasks properly
Keep a close eye on record keeping and control systems to produce internal safeguards
Keep track of financial trends by completing payroll analysis
Effectively provide information and answer questions from senior executives and cross-functional business leaders
Manage pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies
Enhance current processes by suggesting, leading, and working on a range of projects
Requirements
5+ years experience in a high-volume/ large company environment
-3+ years in manager or director level positions
-Workday system experience required, implementation experience is a plus!
Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification preferred, not required
Well-founded grasp of payroll management
