Director of Business Intelligence and Data Services
Deliver insights to help us turn data into action as a Director of Business Intelligence and Data Services at GDIT. Our work depends on Director of Business Intelligence and Data Services joining our team to lead internal efforts to transition from repetitive, time consuming manual reporting to modern, self-service business intelligence.
HOW A DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND DATA SERVICES WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Translates the problems our business is looking to solve into the data products, tools, and services that will allow them to reach solutions, working in conjunction with data governance and data engineers.
● Serves as Product Portfolio Manager for the data products and intelligence / analysis services provided to internal users.
● Oversees the prioritization of all data products that are produced for the business through the company's BI platform and catalog.
● Collaborates with the business, IT, data stewards, and others to ensure that data products balance the need for insight with the need to protect sensitive information.
● Champions the use of a modern analytics platform and educates employees on how to effectively use it.
● Oversees service delivery including provisioning, incident management, and service disruption
● Oversees federated site management within BI applications
● Serves the business as a consultant to troubleshoot issues using data applications, products, and services.
● Tracks usage and utilization of data products and services to promote efficiency and prevent waste.
● Supports targeted initiatives by the business to replatform to business intelligence with consulting, process modeling, education, and troubleshooting
● Applies expertise in Tableau, Power BI, data prep tools, lakehouses, Denodo, and other data tools to develop a roadmap for the future of Business Intelligence and related data services at GDIT.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or equivalent additional experience in a business or technical field
● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience supporting data management, business intelligence, reporting, data analysis or other data discipline.
● Required Technical Skills: Tableau or PowerBI visualization and administration
● Required Skills and Abilities: Must be comfortable in a leadership role, interfacing daily with GDIT executives and being a prominent figure to support change
● Preferred Skills: Data architecture, data modeling, SQL, Python, Denodo
● Location: Remote
● Due to the nature of the work performed and the necessary access to restricted data, U.S. Citizenship is required

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire.
