Job Summary:
St. Francis House seeks a Director of Annual Giving to be a part of our development team. This Director of Annual Giving will be responsible for overseeing and leading strategy for the Agency's annual fundraising efforts and growing fundraising revenue year-over-year. This position will be responsible for the oversight of Development Operations and will carry a portfolio of 100 individuals including prospects.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees the Associate Director of Annual Giving
Oversees an Event Coordinator
Oversees the daily workflow of assigned development staff.
Interviews, selects, trains staff.
Provides constructive and timely performance communication.
Handles progressive warning and termination of employees in accordance with agency policy/procedure.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Fundraising Operations
Partners with the VP of Philanthropy in developing an Annual Giving strategy.
Builds the Annual Giving pipeline, with a particular focus on annual gifts $500 - $24,999.
Grows the pipeline of prospects to generate donor relationships, with prospects rated $10,000+
Works closely with the VP to establish annual fundraising goals and ensure that projected goals are met.
Oversees and is responsible for the relationship with our external mail house, collaborating on strategy, pivoting as necessary, and ensuring timely deliverables and overseeing growth for the direct mail program.
Ensures that our major event, All the Way Home, as well as potential small to medium-sized special events are designed, developed and implemented to be memorable events with the highest quality, fully utilizing the Event Chairs and volunteers and meeting or exceeding the fundraising revenue goal.
Ensures that Development Operations runs smoothly and efficiently, that gifts are processed and acknowledged in a timely manner and that donor records and gifts are accurate in the Raisers’ Edge database.
Maximizes support from individual donors for St. Francis House to achieve annual goals.
Conduct 6-8 donor meetings monthly, traveling regionally as necessary.
Achieves and maintains the highest standards of relationship management and reporting of donor interactions.
Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a personal portfolio of 100 individual donor prospects who are capable of making 4- and 5-figure gifts.
Ensures all avenues of other fundraising such as tributes, matching gifts, third party events and community partners are being managed and poised for success to meet annual goal.
Builds, maintains and maximizes both internal and external partnerships. Collaborates actively with colleagues from other departments.
Part of the St. Francis House Leadership Team
Adheres to agency code of conduct.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge & skills typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in annual giving, sales or relationship management with demonstrated success in frontline solicitation required; preferably in an organization with a human services mission.
At least 3 years of supervisory/management experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience securing 5-figure gifts.
An understanding of the Greater Boston philanthropic community.
Must have a driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle.
Lived experience of homelessness and/or recovery a plus.
Experience with computers, including the use of email programs, web-based tools, Microsoft Office applications, and proficiency with donor management software (CRM databases, Raisers’ Edge a plus).
Non-profit experiences a plus.
