American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the Global leader in Commercial Payments and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business. To maintain this success, the organization must accelerate sales and drive profitable charge volume growth. The Sales Enablement, Pricing & Transformation (SPT) team within GCS is instrumental in ensuring achievement of these objectives. The Director position within SPT offers you the opportunity to be part of this dynamic organization and help GCS achieve its goals and targets.
The Learning & Development Director will lead a team responsible for leveraging data, performance insights, and internal customer feedback to identify training needs across the sales and client management lifecycles. The Director will lead and help to evolve the training strategy to meet internal customer training needs, and manage, track, and reinforce trainings. The Training Director will be a thought leader who will deliver on an effective training plan and the professional development of Colleagues across GCS' US Small and Middle Enterprises (SME) segment.
Responsibilities:
Lead a hard-working team of trainers dedicated to getting results for their business segmentBuild strong relationships with leaders and support teams to clearly identify training needs to drive growth targetsDesign and implement the learning journey for US SME Sales and Account Development Colleagues to drive outstanding performance of both front-line teams (new hires and tenured) and leaders, including innovation of curriculums, training delivery, and reinforcementStrategize and align with stakeholder on Continuing Education needs and topicsEstablish processes that will scale to meet the demands of a growing Sales and Account Development organizationPartner with our Learning & Development Centers of Excellence to source, develop, and customize content based on role and/or the segment's training needsCollaborate with key business partners (i.e., Marketing, Performance & Insights, Product, etc.) to evolve training materials, topics, and delivery methodsMeasure effectiveness of the learning experience by using business performance metrics to evolve the training plan over time
Minimum Qualifications:
4 - 5 years' experience in adult learning and training development and delivery, including effectively leading and facilitating training programs3 - 5 years' people leadership experienceBachelor's degree or equivalent experiencePeople leadership with the ability and experience to build, coach, and develop a hard-working teamOutstanding facilitation skills, engaging style in front of large audiences, strong written and oral communication skills Ability to create an exciting learning environment Experience with developing successful programs to accelerate the performance Ability to identify learning and performance improvement needs, develop objectives, design plans, and demonstrate return on investmentExperience using creative tactics and programs to drive the adoption of new digital capabilities Excellent business acumen and results orientationOutstanding relationship building skills with consistent track record to effectively collaborate, partner, and advise senior leaders, internal business partners, external vendors, and customer facing colleagues to uncover insights and build consensus Business writing and communications excellence, specifically the ability to formulate and convey a strategy and other information in a clear, concise and visually appealing manner Project Management in a deadline-driven, results-oriented environment with competing prioritiesStrong executive presence and ability to influence at all levelsInnovator - not afraid to challenge the status quo Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, excel in a complex, fast paced, multi-team environment with rapidly evolving business demandsEnthusiastic, fun, flexible and demonstrates a willingness to learn!

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
