Overview
The Director of Investment Operations is a key leader in the Global Finance Organization and is responsible for overseeing the Investments Operations Team which is comprised of Middle Office and Back Office. Investment Operations Middle Office and Back Office support multiple trading desks such as Treasury, Commercial Finance Capital Markets, and Consumer Finance.
The primary area of focus for the Middle Office team are Collateral Management, Data Investments Management, Investment Compliance, and Portfolio Reporting and Analytics. Back-office team primarily focuses on Portfolio Monitoring and Administration, Reconciliations, and Disbursement Execution.
Responsibilities
As a Director of Investment Operations, you will have management responsibilities for two direct report and a total team of twelve people.Provide ongoing leadership, mentoring and professional development opportunities and feedback through daily interactions, weekly check-ins and the Bank's annual goal setting and review process.Responsible for oversight and management of day-to-day investment operations and portfolio administration such as end-to-end daily trade flow, custodial integration, pre-trade/trade/post-trade implementation, documentation, execution, reconciliation, monitoring & reporting.Facilitate strategic vendor integration (e.g., ABOR, IBOR, OMS, Collateral) and implementation in partnership with IT, Treasury, Commercial Capital Markets, and key other internal and external stakeholders.Identifying gaps and provide actionable insights in our current investment operations system regarding ways to reduce risk and/or improve efficiency.Develop and manage relationships with custodians, brokers, portfolio accounting platform, and other service providers.Collaborate with Client Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to optimize cross-functional workflows that provide best-in-class client service.Proactively monitor and maintain Compliance and Investment Operational standards, policies, procedures and controls for consistent team alignment and client experienceRecommend and implement improvements to Investment Operations processes. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Bank Treasury OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Bank Treasury.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related fields. Advanced degree is preferred but not required.A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Treasury Operations, Investment Operations, or other Treasury functions is required.Highly collaborative; adept at working in a fact paced environments.Strong analytical, time management and managerial skillsStrong product knowledge in repo, collateral, fixed Income bonds, FX, P&L, and interest rate swapsMust be able to effectively build and develop talent and manage performance of the team, which will require oversight of the day-to-day workflow, review departmental work for quality and accuracy, train staff with professional knowledge, and openly share experience.Ability to manage a team in a virtual/remote setting across multiple time zones.
