About Director, HSSE Global

  To support us with our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, strategic leader to join us as our Global Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Director to provide leadership for the implementation of our HSSE strategy, while aligning services and resources in support of Stantec’s business strategy across Global Operations.

  This role can be based out of any of our major offices in the UK and will form a key part of our Global HSSE Leadership team.

  Reporting to the Senior Vice President (HSSE), you will be responsible for directing the regional HSSE teams in the UK, continental Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and our Asia Pacific locations and working with our technical and operational teams. You will provide coaching and guidance around HSSE requirements and expectations to fully embed our Safety culture and values.

  You will provide forward-looking, strategic occupational HSSE counsel for the organization, rooted in a strong technical background and focusing on the implementation of effective systems in a large multi-disciplinary organization within the Global region. You will provide trusted advisor services to Stantec’s senior leadership within the area of responsibility.

  ABOUT YOU

  You will be a charismatic and dynamic leader, capable of inspiring a team, spread across multiple regions and cultures, to achieve its objectives and drive a high performing health & safety culture for Stantec around the world.

  You will be a strategic thinker, with proven leadership experience in an international setting. Ideally you will have a degree in a HSSE or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  You will have demonstrated success in an engineering, environmental or consulting environment and have experience with organisational growth and diversity of locations and culture. You will have a long-term strategic vision combined with a pragmatic, operational excellence outlook.

  You will have experience overseeing the implementation of new HSSE systems in an Engineering environment, while your ability to thrive in changing conditions as well as making quick informed leadership decisions will be critical to your success in this role.
