  Your Team & Role

  As a Director, HIPPA Security Officer in the Information Security Office you will be responsible for monitoring compliance with HIPAA security requirements for Prudential. You will partner across Global Technology to determine methods and procedures on new assignments as a strategic leader within the organization. You will work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of risk and controls to ensure security of our products and customers! In addition to deep technical expertise and experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

  Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  Lead the continuous assessment of information security policies, procedures, and technical systems to maintain compliance with HIPAA security requirements.Facilitate Global Technology alignment to the organization's HIPAA, and related programsEnsure Prudential is in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act's security requirements.Serve as subject matter experts regarding HIPAA security requirements.Perform ongoing information risk assessments and audits to ensure that information systems are adequately protected and meet HIPAA certification requirementsResponsible for implementing, managing, and enforcing information security directives as mandated by HIPAAOversee project and operational work, while guiding and transferring knowledge to more junior team membersFunction as an escalation point for operational work handled by more junior staff on the team, managing and resolving issues independentlyLeverage Security Operations and tool/process specific knowledge as well as organizational and industry knowledge to resolve complex technical/process/people problems Partner with leadership to set direction for the future of Security Operations program, while ensuring an accurate understanding and in-depth knowledge of daily operations to enhance and improve information security processes and controlsApply a deep understanding of cybersecurity framework and emerging risks to give direction to team members and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day security operations

  The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  Bachelor of Computer Science or Information Technology or experience in related fieldsAbility to lead independently with minimal guidance and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences and perspectives to the benefit of the organizationExperience with agile development methodologiesKnowledge of business concepts and information security tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's businessAbility to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challengesExcellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills

  Significant experience and/or deep expertise with several of the following:

  Advanced knowledge of the HIPAA Security Rule and other government technology laws and best practicesNIST and ISO 27000 StandardsInformation Security Control Standards and Engineering SpecificationsIdentity and Access ManagementInformation Security Risk Assessment processesData Loss Prevention processes and toolsVulnerability and Compliance Monitoring processes and toolsPrivileged access request creation, approval and provisioning processes

  Certified HIPAA Privacy Security Expert (CHPSE) examCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

  Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $144,500.00 to $195,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
