About this role
BlackRock's Japan Fundamental Equity (FE) team is seeking an equities portfolio manager/analyst whose primary responsibility is to manage Japanese large cap equity portfolios, as well as research analysis work in several sectors. The individual will be responsible for providing not just better portfolio performance but also identifying, and communicating, the investment implications for Japanese equity universe.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for portfolio constructions and company analysis, undertaking robust and rigorous research and analysis of Japan companiesUndertake day to day portfolio management responsibilities of Japanese equity portfolios, mainly large cap equitiesProvide macro-economic views and insights as well as opinions on the outlook for Japanese equities and key and pertinent market drivers from top-down and bottom-up perspectivesPartner with local and global portfolio managers and research analysts to receive and provide investment ideas for implementation into portfoliosOperate as part of the team utilizing best practices in terms of philosophy and process while contributing to evolution and developmentBuild partnership and strong working relationship with counterparts in the regionServe as a resource for, and share information with, other investment professionals at BlackRockBe an ambassador for the Japan equity teams
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience as a buy-side equity portfolio managerMinimum 5 years' equity research experienceProven portfolio management skills and performance track recordProven research and analytical capabilitiesAbility to multi-task and prioritize various projectsExcellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skillsEffective team player and management experience will be a plusExcellent written and oral communication skills in Japanese and EnglishCFA and/or post graduate degree preferred

Our hybrid work model
