Intro
This job is a member of the Financial Planning Team within the Finance Division. The role oversees all aspects of the Company’s operating budget and short-term and long-term financial forecasts.
What you'll do
Leads the financial planning team by overseeing the development of financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting activities for American Airlines’ operating budget, and short-term and long-term financial forecast
Prepares information for Board presentations, quarterly Earnings calls, and numerous other reviews of financial results, trends, and evaluations resulting in extensive interaction with management across all levels and departments
Provides insightful and actionable financial analysis and reporting, including key trends, forecast liquidity, metrics, and business drivers to inform business performance and decision making in support of achieving business strategic objectives
Manages and is responsible for development of staff of financial managers and analysts
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education Prior Job Experience
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience/training; advanced degree (MBA) preferred
7 years of Finance leadership experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Extensive experience in financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and counsel a diverse team of finance managers and analysts
Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills and collaboration
Ability to build collaborative relationships with, and consensus amongst, multiple stakeholders with varying points of view
Ability to lead a team through a finance transformation, exploring modernized tools for continuous process improvement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively and clearly communicate a strategic vision
Ability to explain financial and accounting concepts to non-financial audiences
