Reporting to the Sr. Director of Experience Design (XD), the Director will design, lead, and inspire squads to craft human-centered digital experiences that meet users’ needs. This strong digital leader will collaboratively partner with product teams to achieve identified objectives, keep informed on industry trends, and identify UX opportunities and methodologies. This individual should be naturally curious, have a passion for human-centered design, be a creative problem solver, be comfortable with ambiguity, and embrace an agile culture. The leader will also help to design artifact creation and demonstrate the use of design research methodologies.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required
A BA/BS degree is required, preferably in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), engineering, or related area
Required 10 years of demonstrated ability within a design discipline, for example: experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, user interface, service design or similar UX-related role
Must have at least 5 years of experience leading UX teams
Experience establishing strong relationships with executives
Experience shaping and building a team of highly-skilled and seasoned design practitioners to deliver exceptional experiences
Experience attracting, hiring and retaining superior design talent
Advanced knowledge for information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process, as well as user experience principles and techniques
Strong blend of Business Strategy, Technology experience, and Human-Centered Design
Ability to simplify sophisticated concepts for consumption by non-technical leaders
Intellectual curiosity to keep pace with industry trends related to user experience
Strong decision-making, consulting, and senior level business communication and presentation skills
Outstanding leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
Experience leading product designers to ensure roadmaps are oriented to deliver against program objectives and measurable experience-driven outcomes
Collaborative leader who influences results and builds a strong collective team and design culture
