About Director, Communications, Travel Retail APAC

  POSITION SUMMARY:

  The Travel Retail Worldwide Communications and Social Marketing is a Functional Team within the Travel Retail Division supporting communications related to Consumer PR, Social Media and Influencers and experiences for the Estée Lauder Companies' prestige beauty, skincare, fragrance and hair care brands within the Travel Retail channel. In this role, the Director, Social Marketing & Communications, Travel Retail APAC will lead the Consumer PR and KOL communications for the Asia Pacific region with particular focus on engaging Mainland Chinese travelers through KOLs, traditional and online press. In this role, they will support all Travel Retail brand teams in APAC, work as part of the APAC Integrated Marketing team to develop strategies and activations that successfully leverage Communications to drive awareness and conversion for ELC brands amongst the traveling Asian consumer. Based in Singapore with matrix reporting, this position will manage a team located across 3 countries and a network of agencies to support the regional PR calendar, day-to-day media and KOL relations, and signature Travel Retail events. In addition, they will serve as a strategic advisor to the Travel Retail teams on PR, Social and Communications trends within the region, developing a localized strategy that supports both regional and global business goals. They will also work with innovation, insights, digital and analytics teams to fuel increased traveler engagement with our Brands in Travel Retail channels.

  Successful candidates will be highly motivated, self-starters with a passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of the communications in Asia. Experience working within a highly matrixed, multinational organization with a regional viewpoint is essential.

  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Drive the Consumer PR and KOL strategy for Travel Retail's APAC region to promote awareness and conversion amongst the traveling Asian consumer Partner with Travel Retail's brand teams in APAC to develop a local PR and KOL strategy and annualized calendar to support their business goals and needs

  Build a network of media and KOL contacts within the region who become ambassadors for our brands within Travel Retail Assess, localize and adapt all global PR campaigns, press materials and product pushes to drive relevant results for the region Manage day-to-day Travel Retail media inquiries and KOL requests for APAC and act as connector between TRWW Communications and regional brand teams Drive signature APAC Travel Retail media and KOL events and ensure all Travel Retail events are executed to brand and channel standards Support TR APAC Integrated Marketing and Analytics teams incorporating Influencers as part of media spend performance reviews

  Support TR APAC in building channel relevant experiences through partnering with digital platforms, Retailer Livestreams and brands Manage monthly PR and Social reporting for APAC Manage regional PR budget in line with business needs and storytelling goals

  Qualifications

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  Excellent written and verbal communications skills in Mandarin and English, Korean a plus Proven track record creating compelling communications campaigns across traditional, digital and social media that drive strong business results in the APAC region Strong consumer media and KOL contacts within the travel and/or beauty space in China and APAC region

  Experience managing and representing multiple brands and projects simultaneously in an agency or similar setting Strategic thinker who can manage stakeholders both internally and externally across regions and teams Passion for social and digital media, with a strong interest in leveraging KOLs to create tangible business value Experience working across multi-language regions with a passion for the travel space Experience building high performing teams across geographies and time zones

  High degree of emotional intelligence; ability to navigate successfully in a highly matrixed global organization Creative strategic thinker and problem solver Extremely organized and detail-oriented Demonstrates strong project management abilities Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with global colleagues

  Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Minimum Years of Experience: 7 - 10
