  Our Business Development "Team Pegasus" partners with Operations and otherteams to build and execute growth plans in assigned geographic markets and inaddition, identifies and develops strategic growth opportunities forinnovative relationships and leads successful expansion of existingrelationship. As the Director, Business Development you will directstrategic new business and ensures existing and incremental priorityhospital, health system and accountable provider relationships aremaintained. In this role, you work with Health Systems, Hospitals, andAccountable Care Organizations in collaboration with DaVita internal teams,to develop Value-Based Care and core kidney care relationships. Relationshipsbuilt and maintained include, but not limited to: kidney diseasemanagement, care coordination (CKD through ESKD), development of newdialysis centers, joint venture partnerships, acquisitions, post-acuteservices, acute dialysis, and discharge planning services.

  This teammate will need be accountable for a portfolio across NorthernCalifornia to Alaska.

  This role, reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development, isbased remotely but the ideal candidate is based within proximity of the marketcomprised in Northern California. Additionally, requires >30-50% of timeexternally with partners and internal team meetings.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectationsof this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.Development - serve as regional development executive within a $1+Boperating group. Lead initiatives that drive long-term growth as part ofdivision senior leadership team and Develop lines of business that enhanceDaVita's service offerings.Strategy - partner with Hospital division leadership team to analyze markettrends and identify opportunities/threats.Develop plans for division toachieve Company's objectives related to revenue, EBITDA, capital,presence, and other key measures.Transactions - source, develop, and negotiate complex renal partnershipswith Hospitals, Systems, and Accountable Providers. Examples includeMedical Director Agreements, Purchase Agreements, Operating Agreements,Hospital Services Agreements, and Value-Based Care Agreements.Collaboration - lead cross-functional virtual teams. Develop strongrelationships with external and internal customers. Teams and resources mayinclude Operations, Strategy, Finance, M&A, Legal, HospitalServices, Payor Contracts, Integrated Care, other.Partner Relationships - develop, manage, and/or track executiverelationships with Hospitals, Systems, Accountable Providers and relatedstakeholders including, but not limited to employed Physician practices,assist with DaVita's partner selection process for strategic opportunities.Value-Based Care - assist teams responsible for negotiating and implementingValue-Based Care agreements with the government and commercial Payors. Buildlocal relationships, assess Payor integrated care readiness, and qualifyfit with DaVita.Deliverables - manage key deliverables. Prepare and deliver executivepresentations to senior leadership teams within Company and at externalpartners.Reporting - update Salesforce.com and other internal tools. Provide timelystatus on accounts, opportunities and other growth initiatives withindivision.

  QUALIFICATIONSEducation. Bachelor's degree required, MBA, MPH or relevant graduatedegree preferredHealthcare Experience. Significant work experience in the healthcare industrywith a Health System, Payor or provider; knowledge of industry dynamics(e.g., cost, quality, reimbursement, physician practicemanagement, and risk-sharing).Experience in development of new medical facilities, physician practicemanagement, or ambulatory su gical center development preferred.If no Payor or provider experience, then other relevant experience(e.g., management consulting, private equity, investment banking,and pharmaceutical/device).Development Experience. 5+ years of transaction experience in CorporateDevelopment (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, otherpartnerships). Significant experience in influential leading teams toexecute all aspects of transactions including planning, analysis, proposaldevelopment, negotiation, execution, and integration.Strategy & Planning. Demonstrated experience analyzing markets,partners, and competitors to develop 3-5-year growth strategies and plans.Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstratedintellectual and analytical rigor. Collaborate closely with Operations andStrategy to prioritize and maintain focus on highest-value opportunities.Relationship Management. Passion for building trusted-advisor relationshipswith partners to create tangible results. Genuine interest in bringinghigh-quality care to more patients by aligning DaVita growth strategies withpartner strategic objectives. Partners may include nephrologists, medicalgroups, health systems/hospitals, and health plans.Opportunity Management. Ability to structure and manage complex projects andprocesses with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels. Abilityto handle projects with multiple work streams, with proven success over awide variety of business opportunities.Team Leadership. Strong leadership skills with a team-oriented andcollaborative approach. Ability to get things done in a way that creates apositive environment.
