About Director, Access Strategy and Pricing, Pipeline & BD, Specialty Care

  The Access Strategy & Pricing (ASP) Director, Pipeline & Business Development, Specialty Care , will serve as a principal market access strategist for early clinical and business development opportunities. In collaboration with the asset development team(s), this colleague will formulate market access and pricing strategies and conduct/oversee generation and synthesis of global payer insights,development of early global market access and pricing strategies, recommendations for clinical trial design and investment priorities for the early pipeline. This includes business development and overseeing the development of financial models to evaluate the impact of lifecycleindications.

  This position will function with a 'One Global Access & Value (GAV)' mindset and will work in a closely aligned fashion with other GAV Early Development team members in other Business Units to ensure there is a single and coordinated view on strategy and delivery. This position reports to the Early Development Specialty Care, Pipeline & Business Development Global ASP Team Lead.

  RESPONSABILITIES

  Overall Accountability

  Lead Team: Lead select cross functional early clinical matrix team(s) for pipeline indications comprised of ASP, Value and Evidence, RWE, H&V and GLocal colleagues.

  Strategic Partnership: Become a strategic partner to Commercial (CSI), Medical, PRD, GPD, Corporate Affairs, prioritized countries and Regulatory; effectively liaise with GAV's Centers of Excellence.

  Plan & Deliver on Commitments: Orchestrate development of the Integrated Value and Access Strategy (IVAS) for early clinical programs and implementation of key tactics needed to generate rapid, broad, and sustainable access.

  External Partnerships: Explore potential partnerships and collaborations with key external experts, healthcare policy makers, HTAs and payers, patient advocacy groups and various academic and community settings to support asset strategy.

  Generate & synthesize payer insights.

  Maintain in-depth understanding of payer regulations, needs of all types of payers (e.g., HTA agencies, institutions, and patients) in key Pfizer markets, and lead horizon-scanning to ensure evolving payer expectations are integrated into strategies and recommendations.

  Lead assessment and communication of external access trends to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities for pipeline & inline portfolio.

  Gather and synthesize feedback for development programs with health technology assessment agencies, payers, and relevant patient associations.

  Develop payer value proposition and drive market access strategy

  Develop clear and cohesive access, pricing and evidence generation strategy(ies) to optimize value of pipeline & BD programs and overall portfolio.

  Lead discussions with Country Health & Value and US Market Access Leads at critical junctures to ensure local insights are integrated into global plans that optimize long-term value for our programs/portfolio, including input into clinical development plans, market access and pricing strategies and recommendations, early HTA advice, early economic models, and evidence generation plans via the Value & Access Plan.

  Lead alignment efforts with Commercial, BAI, Clinical, Medical, Asset and BD teams to ensure clinical trial design and commercial strategies reflect payer insights and align with Bold Moves to maximize value of the program.

  Lead discussions and seek early buy-in from senior leadership on price and market access strategies and recommendations to support key business decision points.

  Drive development of a medicine's early value proposition and value-based agreement strategy and seek buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders.

  Partner with Value & Evidence to optimize clinical trial design recommendations (e.g., endpoints, comparators, PROs), development of early economic model, and generation of supplemental evidence (e.g.,comparative-effectivenessstudies leveraging real-world evidence) to strengthen our value proposition and pricing/access opportunity.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  Education: Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in a healthcare, business or economic field preferred (PhD, MD or MBA)

  Experience: 10 years minimum with a bachelor's degree; 9 years minimum for a master's degree; 7 years minimum for a PhD or JD in healthcare environment, preferably pharmaceutical industry or related consulting services, sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the global payer and market access environment

  Deep expertise in developing and executing Pricing & Market Access strategies and deliverables on key ex-US market such as Germany, France, UK, Italy and/or Spain.

  Strong knowledge and understanding of drug development process.

  Pharmaceutical business leadership including experience in strategy development and interaction with customers.

  Strong project management abilities (contracting, budgeting, vendor management) essential.

  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines, and rapidly shifting priorities.

  Excellent interpersonal skills required; ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers and influence in a matrix environment.

  Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization where managing through influence is required.

  Excellent oral and written English communication skills required.

  The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $261,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
