Our Community Connectors are DSPS who work Monday through Friday in an Adult Day Services setting supporting and caring for people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Every day as a Community Connector, you actively work in classroom setting where you assist individuals with crafts and other indoor activities, as well as, by taking the individuals into the community when you get to also enjoy outings to museums, sporting events, movies, parks, and many other types of volunteer activities in the Cleveland area.
One of the biggest parts of the job is ensuring the individuals you serve get safely to and from their homes to the program and to the outings. This is a very important part of their day as it is what gives them freedom to move about their community! You will be part of a positive team working together to support people who really appreciate and need you.
Please note...
There are still all the standard requirements in the job such as completing and submitting documentation and billing, driving an individual to an appointment, and supporting individual needs throughout the day, but the impact this role has getting these individuals out of their homes and actively involved in their community is the heart of it all!

Requirements:

Minimum of a High School Diploma, GED or willingness to complete a GED program within 2-years of hire1 year of work experience preferably in a care providing role, or exposure to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities or a combination of experience and educationBasic level of computer proficiency as well as good basic reading and writing skillsExcellent communication, interpersonal charting and record keeping skillsAbility to accept and provide direction and instruction in a professional mannerSuccessfully pass a background check that includes a BCI and FBI criminal history checkMust maintain current CPR/First Aid Certification; training available for CPR and Med Pass onsiteMust have a valid Ohio Driver's License with less than 6 pointsMed Pass Certification preferred.BenefitsDental, Health Insurance, Paid Holidays, Retirement, Sick Leave, and Vacation.
