Job Responsibility
Assists in screening patients at nutritional risk by interviewing patients to obtain diet history, limited nutrition assessment data and food preferences. Reviews medical record to obtain pertinent nutrition information. Evaluates data collected to determine if patients are at nutritional risk. Visits patients on assigned units to obtain meal selections utilizing the CBORD/BME (Bedside Menu Entry) program. Modifies daily menus in accordance with the patient's diet prescription, food preferences, etc. Implements nutrition care plan and provides consultation for those not at nutritional risk. Refers patients at nutritional risk to a qualified dietitian. Calculates diets as ordered for patients on regular or special diets and tube feedings. Documents nutritional screening/assessment information into the CBORD system and appropriate assessment forms. Maintains related records, files, etc. Observes patients during meal service noting food acceptance and adherence to diet. Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
Associates Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, required. Registration with the American Dietetic Association, preferred. One (1) year dietetic experience, preferred.
