Description
Desktop Support professionals are responsible for providing assistance and handling technical issues related to computer systems, hardware, and software. Their role is crucial to ensure that the technology infrastructure of the company runs smoothly and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:
Answering queries and addressing system and user issues promptly.
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals.
Setting up, configuring, and managing software and hardware systems.
Training end users on how to use computer hardware and software.
Performing or ensuring routine backup and recovery processes.
Escalating problem issues to higher level IT staffers or management when necessary.
Installing updates and patches on desktops and laptops.
Keeping an inventory of all hardware and software.
Documenting all actions taken to correct desktop and systems issues.
Ensuring the security of the company’s IT system, including user access controls and firewalls.
Performing other tasks as required by the IT department or the needs of the company.
Requirements
Key Qualifications:
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ would be a plus.
Strong knowledge of computer systems and networks.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication skills to interact with end users and the rest of the IT team.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
Knowledge of relevant software and hardware systems.
Understanding of IT privacy and security protocols.
