About Designer/Drafter

  We are looking to fill a Designer position in our Engineering Department that supports our manufacturing facility located in Dublin, OH.

  Are you familiar with designing and/or architectural engineering practices? If so, this position may be for you!

  We are looking for an experienced individual with demonstrated experience and abilities in design, who exercises independent judgement in the completion of architectural projects. The ideal candidate solves problems when encountered, works under the direction of others, is responsible for the project's technical design, provides coordination and consultation on large projects and receives guidance on complex projects or conditions.

  In this role,you will:

  · Work with sales to maintain standards of design and apply continuous improvement practices to facilitate review/revision/upgrade of submittal processes and finished submittal packages.

  · Review project files for completeness of information, gather additional information needed to complete design work in CAD as required for the project, and prioritize design work for fast, accurate completion of all design submittal documents. Coordinate submittal priorities and due dates manager and/or Market Manager as needed/required.

  · Review completed submittal packages and related documents to ensure accuracy of design for field installation and factory production purposes.

  · Communicate with client project teams to ensure that projects are understood both by KNC and by the end user during field installation.

  · Communicate with production group to ensure product designs are efficient and utilize best-use manufacturing techniques available at KNC.

  · Provide bills of materials and submittal package information in a fashion acceptable to customer service and production groups. Review all pricing of release with Sales and/or the Market Manager.

  · Maintain a record of orders and submittals processed from date received to date completed.

  · As required, conduct reviews of project jobsite issues with Sales.

  · Produce product and application details as required by the market group and sales representatives.

  · Field phone calls as required and ensure the inquiry is addressed properly in a timely fashion.

  · Produce detail, layout and assembly drawings, using the AutoCAD platform so the designed equipment can be manufactured in a logical order and in a production-friendly manner

  · Analyze critical interface between components and designs for appropriate assembly.

  · Perform component research to support the project design process.

  Who we are looking for:

  You have a love for technical design and can engage technical and non-technical customers to obtain a full understanding of the project. You have a background in commercial and institutional construction designs- and are a whiz in AutoCAD (2009 or later) as well as Microsoft Office programs. You have an Associated degree in a related field of study and/or a combination education and 5 or more years of experience designing in a manufacturing environment. A Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. You bring your expertise of interpreting construction drawings and related documents, e.g., specifications. Knowledge of concrete, wood-framed, steel-framed, RCP, and MEP design and components/systems construction preferred.
