  Reporting into the Editorial Director of Good Housekeeping, this role helps shape the editorial strategy of Good Housekeeping and also ensure a collaborative, creative and cohesive approach across the Good Housekeeping and Good Housekeeping Institute teams.

  This role will further develop Good Housekeeping's award-winning content, bringing fresh ideas and energy to engage a new generation of Good Housekeeping customers and nurture editorial talent across the team.

  ABOUT THE ROLE

  Key Responsibilities:

  Work with the Editorial Director GH to realise the brand strategy and vision. Assist with managing the team, guiding and supporting them to create best-in-class content that drives revenue and engagement including circulation, subscriptions, newsletter sign ups, app downloads and more. Help shape and implement the over-arching editorial strategy for the brand across platforms, always thinking three steps ahead about where we need to be and how we're going to get there. Work with the Editorial Director on the celebrity / talent strategy and bookings for GH including covers, features and video, specifically developing a new cast of characters that serves our core and growth customers, while line managing the Senior Celebrity Writer. To conduct fascinating, insightful celebrity interviews that produce standout / unexpected newsworthy coverlines, and write features, as required. Ensure factual accuracy and legal safety of all copy, as well as ensuring our tone remains consistent and our core brand principles are ever-present. Work with the Chief Sub Editor to deliver an effective and efficient workflow, communicating any issues or changes in best practice to the team and ED. Work with the Chief Sub Editor to achieve laser-sharp accuracy from the subs' team. Ensure all production deadlines are met in accordance with agreed schedules. Work with the ED and Managing Editor to ensure the smooth running of the print element of GH financially. Work closely with the ED and Multiplatform Director to deliver an integrated approach to all content creation and production, ensuring every opportunity is fully exploited and developed to its potential. Edit content and push ideas forward, guiding the team to deliver consistent editorial excellence, that will delight our growth customers. To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values, and an external ambassador for the Good Housekeeping brand when required (with media and advertising clients, for example) You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.ABOUT YOU

  This role requires a very experienced editorial lead, who has worked at a high level in a print publication and has a detailed understanding of quality content and the production process An ideas machine with a keen eye for features and a talented, respected writer Demonstrable understanding of how to manipulate a single content idea for print, email, web and mobile Appetite for change, and experience of leading it while earning the respect and trust of a talented team of peers and colleagues An adaptable individual, who can deal confidently with both colleagues but also work independently. Understanding of multiple lifestyle areas or the ability to rapidly become knowledgeable in these topics. Knowledge of the subbing process and workflow and a razor-sharp eye for brilliant, accurate copy. In-depth knowledge of the celebrity world and the confidence to deal with publicists and celebrities.WHAT WE OFFER
