  DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this role, you will be assisting with data entry and analysis using Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) databases and Geographic Information System (GIS) software tools. It also includes tracking Best Management Practices (BMPs) and other geospatial data, such as nonpoint source pollution prevention and Countywide Action Plans (CAP) implementation grant-funded projects, as well as agricultural planning information for the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Model. Additionally, the position involves scheduling and attending meetings, documenting and compiling meeting notes, and communicating orally and in writing with DEP personnel, state agency staff, management, and external local partners to gather necessary data and information related to agricultural permitting, compliance, and grant programs.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Telework Schedule: Interns will have the opportunity to work from home (telework), part-time on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor, so they are in the office on the same days. No full time telework will be approved. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you must report to the office in Harrisburg.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:Environmental ScienceBiologyAn approved major course of study at an accredited college or university.Freshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
