SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Supply & Demand Planning Manager, the Demand Planning Analyst will support inventory planning and demand forecasting for a couple of our large imprints. This role assists our Planning Manager by reviewing key inventory and sales reports to aid HBG’s print decisions, while supporting the diverse range of authors, titles, and publishing divisions at Hachette Book Group, a leading US trade book publisher, as well as fulfillment, manufacturing, sales and warehouse operations.

Run and review Inventory and Forecasting ReportsReview key account Cancel and Reorder ReportsAssist Planning Manager with Reprint Meeting review set up and recap, Holiday Titles review, and First Print Meeting reviewEnter Printing AuthorizationsMaintain Sales Reservation and Transfer RequestsManage Planner Codes to maintain proper planning and printing lead times, and visibility of sales promotions.Monitor Reprints in Process at our printers to ensure titles are sequenced by need-by date priority.Assist Planning Manager with Overstock/Remainder/Destruct review, Returns Disposition review, and Component Storage reviewManage Auto Replenishment Program and forecasting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
BA/BS/MS in a quantitative field preferred but not requiredAt least 2 years background in a supply & demand planning environment.Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impactsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with various teams involved, attention to detail oriented, and ability to multi-task.Proven analytical skills and adeptness with analytical tools, including advanced Excel. The compensation for this position is $70,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
