Data Center (DC) Project Engineer
The Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team is a project management and execution team that manages construction activity within the operational data center spaces. The CPI team is tasked with critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize utilization of space, power, and cooling within operational data centers around the globe. These activities are outside of the scope of standard construction delivery and regular preventative maintenance tasks.
The CPI Data Center (DC) Project Engineer will serve as support to DC Project Managers. Ideal candidates will partner with multiple Data Center Project Managers to handle administrative tasks freeing up their time to focus on organizational goals. They will own and execute repeatable standard work and typical CPI (non-initiative) projects from start to closeout. Flexibility, and adaptability are key requirements for this role to evolve with changing demands and priorities.
In this role, you will wear many hats! Data Center (DC) Project Engineer perform an array of administrative functions critical to running an organization efficiently. We are currently seeking an energetic Data Center (DC) Project Engineer to be part of a creative, efficient team tasked with increasing Data Center capacity and ensuring availability for our customers. Projects include the improvement of electrical, mechanical, structural and building automation systems. You will be required to work both independently as well as a part of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver results.
Key job responsibilities
The Data Center (DC) Project Engineer responsibilities include:
• Badge access requests and vendor on-boarding
• Project funding submission, Vendor Purchase Requests and Orders
• Track delivery of material with the Power and Cooling Supply team
• Coordinate plans for internal equipment transfers
• IT equipment procurement
• Team wiki updates
• Travel arrangements
• Compile weekly project reporting
• Communicating with CPI Leadership and stakeholders for tasks/projects as assigned
• Providing on site vendor oversite and coordination.
• Managing small repeatable projects independently
• Updating project management and scheduling platforms
• Writing and submitting technical vendor method of procedures (MOPs) for approval
• Coordinating and scheduling job site walks and/or meetings with stakeholders.
• Creation of Projects in Amazon’s PM software platform
• Project closeout support, including creating and facilitating the final handoff in the Approval tool.
• CPI Dashboard Monitoring. Regularly monitor CPI dashboards and assist PMs in cluster with remediation
• Submitting change announcements

Basic Qualifications
1+ years’ experience in Construction or Project Management
1+ years of experience planning and time management
1+ years’ experience in Vendor Management
1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook required
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years in Facilities Operations with an emphasis on electrical or mechanical systems
1+ years’ experience in Construction or Project Management
Experience successfully delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Proven track record leading projects and help your team achieve goals.
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and decisions
Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships
Demonstrated experience thriving in an ambiguous environment and ability to motivate yourself, your managers, and associates to deliver against deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $53,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $133,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
