THE POSITION

FanDuel is looking for a Database Developer and DBA at FanDuel, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of our database systems. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of our databases. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about data and enjoys working on challenging projects in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and offshore teams including Backend, product management, quality assurance, to define project goals, requirements, and priorities.
Database Development:
Database Design: Collaborate with software engineers and architects to design and implement database solutions that meet the needs of our applications.
Query Optimization: Optimize SQL queries and database performance to ensure fast and efficient data retrieval.
Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models that support our business requirements and scalability needs.
Reporting: Create and maintain reporting for both internal and external users to ensures that stakeholders have timely access to accurate and actionable information
Version Control: Using version control and change management for database schemas and scripts.
Database Administration (DBA):
Database Security: Implement and maintain database security measures, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
Backup and Recovery: Establish and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance optimizations.
High Availability: Implement and maintain high availability solutions such as replication and clustering.
Capacity Planning: Perform capacity planning to ensure that the database infrastructure can support current and future needs.
Patch Management: Keep the database software up to date with the latest patches and updates.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming.
Proven experience as a Database Developer and/or DBA.
Strong proficiency in database design, SQL, and data modeling.
Experience with SQL Server Database management systems (version 2014+ preferred).
Possess advanced knowledge of SQL, encompassing intricate query optimization techniques, nuanced data manipulation strategies, and a keen ability for fine-tuning database performance. Proficiency extends to crafting queries that operate efficiently even with large datasets, ensuring optimal processing times and minimal resource usage.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

The applicable salary range for this position is $108,000 - $141,750, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation.
This role includes flexible time off (including unlimited paid time off for full-time employees) and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws."
