AWS Support is looking for smart, enthusiastic, and creative thought leader with a strong background in business intelligence and / or operations and supporting field organizations.
The successful candidate will be responsible in developing mechanisms and tools to ensure AWS Support meets business objectives and goals, while championing the needs of our customers.
We are looking for a leader who will work cross-functionally with finance, product, core engineering, and creative teams leading us in building highly scalable pipelines, infrastructure, reporting, monitoring, customer insights/experiments and analytics. You’ll get to work with very large, very ambiguous data sets, in one of the world’s largest data warehouse environments, and this role provides the opportunity to partner deeply across varying business lines and work with multiple stakeholders and executives to chart our path forward.
Success in this role will include strength in growing your team and people leadership, forming strong partnerships across technology and business leaders, and comfort working in a hyper-growth and dynamic technical environment/business.

You lead the design, implementation, and delivery of data science solutions for significantly complex problems that have a long-term impact on a product, business, or function.

You lead and actively participate in reviews of data science solutions. You bring clarity to complexity, probe assumptions, illuminate pitfalls, and foster shared understanding.
A day in the life
The candidate will be an expert in the areas of data science, machine learning and statistics, and is comfortable facilitating ideation and working from concept through to execution.
The successful Data Scientist will have extreme bias for action needed in a startup environment.
Possess high intellectual curiosity with ability to quickly learn new concepts/frameworks, algorithms and technology that powers Amazon high volume hiring.

About the team
BI and Analytics Team empower business with the ability to make data-driven decisions to improve our customer experience and achieve operational excellence. We accomplish this by curating the data that is necessary for analysis, performing data analysis, maintaining core metric definitions, building dashboards and reports, and enabling self-service analytics.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience
5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience
Experience with SQL
Experience with ETL
Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience
10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
