The Leidos Defense Group has multiple openings for a Data Scientists at Newport News, VA. The levels are for Journeyman and Senior. These opportunities are a part of a large Military Intelligence Program supporting the USAF Air Combat Command's Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS).
These positions are supporting a proposal. We are expecting award and funding of these positions in February 2024.

Responsibilities:
Analyze data, identify patterns and trends, and develop predictive models for data-driven decisions.Ensure data is easily accessible, reliable, and secure.Develop strategies and apply mathematical, problem-solving, and coding skills to manage big data.Assess effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.Develop data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.Devise and use algorithms and models to mine big-data stores.Perform data and error analysis to improve models.Clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.Analyze data for trends and patterns and extract meaning from and interpret data.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 4+ years of experience; a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree.TS/SCI security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong coordination and collaboration skillsIAT level II certificationDemonstrated experience with at least one programming language such as Python or RDemonstrated experience with general data science packages such as Pandas, NumPy, and SciPyDemonstrated experience with relational database technologies and SQL, and querying through APIs for retrieving dataAF DCGS weapon system experience is highly desired
Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
