As Data Product Owner you'll craft and drive agile product delivery for data and business intelligence. You'll collaborate with key business partners and learn their current data processes to create a data product roadmap that incorporates their business needs, and improve our ability to support key business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Work with business partners to understand business problem statements and requirements, prioritize needs by business impact, then convert them into user stories.Serve as the "voice of the customer" for the team by bringing this perspective to the data & analytics development team throughout the product life cycle.Collaborate with partners to identify & build visualizations and present information to support governance and executive decision-making process.Own the product lifecycle, from conceptualization to launch, ensuring effective planning, and execution of product initiatives.Collaborate with the multi-functional teams across the organization including architects, security, data\quality engineers and others to ensure we are meeting our product objectives.Maintain the product backlog, including definition of user stories and acceptance criteria.Provide continuous and transparent communication regarding the status of development efforts via system demos, agile events, and team/program-level activities.Work proactively with the product managers and data architects to ensure that solutions being developed now will continue to be extended and improved into the future. Scope activities based on business goals and objectives.Work with Scrum master to help direct, empower, and guide the agile delivery teams. Ensure that Scrum Team meets agreed-upon standards for quality, and non-functional requirements, and that the products meet the stated business need.Review completed development work to ensure specified acceptance criteria have been met and that features and stories meet the definition of done. Quickly assess the impact of defects, and promote built-in quality throughout the development process.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years in product/project management or related role, 3 plus years as Product Owner, with a focus on data products and data driven solutions.Knowledge of technology and software development processes, coordinating all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.Experience on Agile teams, collaborating closely with scrum masters. In depth understanding of the principles and applications of agile software development.Understanding of data management principles, including data modeling, data integration, data quality and data governance. Able to develop data/BI tools, particularly on the Microsoft Power BI platform.Strong quantitative skills. Capable of explaining data concepts, report development techniques, and results in non-technical termsExperience with cloud-based data platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP, including the migration of legacy databases.Skilled in problem-solving, persuasion, prioritization and communication.Highly organized and adept at prioritization. Can recognize and keep track of all the moving pieces, adjusting to new information and goals.
