We are seeking a talented and driven Data Product Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our internal data products effectively meet the business needs of our internal customers, including power users (such as data science, actuarial and finance) and business stakeholders.
You will play a vital role in driving the development, enhancement, and delivery of data products, ensuring their alignment with business goals and strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-oriented individual with a passion for data-driven decision-making and a strong background in product management and data analytics. This position will work directly with the VP of Data, with ample strategic and executive exposure.
What You'll Do:
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into actionable product requirements. Work with cross-functional teams (including data engineering, analytics, and machine learning), and drive end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to execution, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data products. Define, advocate and execute a data product roadmap that meets business needs and delivers strategic value Perform user acceptance testing and gather feedback to iterate and refine data products, ensuring they meet or exceed customer expectations. Develop and implement product documentation, including user guides, training materials, and release notes. Build data governance best practices to ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and best practices. Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify industry trends and competitive insights, incorporating them into product strategy and roadmap. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies in the data analytics and data management domains.
What we need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus. 2 years as a Product Manager, preferably in the data analytics or data management space, or 5 years as a Data Scientist with a track record of shipping organization-wide data initiatives. Strong understanding of data analytics concepts and techniques, with experience working with data analysts and business stakeholders. Solid product management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, JIRA). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with data governance and privacy frameworks (e.g. CCPA) is a plus. Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) and data manipulation techniques is a plus.
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the location(s) listed. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including, without limitation, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US annual base salary range for this full-time position:
$161,000—$186,000 USD
