Role/Responsibilities:
The Digital Insights OU is hiring for an initiative to increase recognition of Moody's value proposition among a wide range of financial market participants by providing highest level of financials data governance and ensure data quality and usability of our products.
The Data Operations Specialist will work within an initiative focused in analyzing published financial documents of corporate entities around the globe. The role will leverage competency in accounting, capital markets, and financial statement analysis to extract relevant data and insights from published documents. The ideal candidate will possess a goal-oriented mindset, an interest in growing their competency and career, and a desire to collaborate with a global team, particularly partnering with the Data Operations Lead/SME and the Data Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
Analyzing and extracting data, insights, and other information from financial documentsReviewing financial documents which include Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement from the annual/interim and regulatory statements of entities across the worldKnowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP, and/or IFRS, is required (knowledge of several and others is a bonus)Conducting detailed quality checks of own work, as well as others is requiredAdhering to timeliness deadlines with quality output is a primary characteristic of the workAbility to work independently and in a global team
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required
Languages:
English: Advanced written and verbal commandSpanish: Advanced written and verbal commandBusiness proficiency in other languages a plus
Skills and Experience
1-3 years of experience of analyzing financial statementsAdvanced understanding of various company filings (10K, annual reports, Solvency reports) and should be comfortable with secondary researchHands on experience extracting pertinent insights from financial statementsKnowledge of accounting/financial documentsSuperior attention to detail, analytical ability and problem-solving skillsOrganized, dependable, able to multi-task and manage priorities, display initiative, and the ability to work independentlyStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and particularly Excel, such as pivot tables, lookups, etc.
