Job Description
A large financial services client is seeking a Data Modeler for a permanent opportunity onsite in downtown Cincinnati. They will be responsible for analyzing and developing complex logical database designs, logical data models and relational data definitions in support of corporate and customer information systems requirements.
They are a key team member on a complex EDW project, that involves multiple different teams across the enterprise & business. It will be imperative that they understand the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between technology systems and business functions/
operations. Responsible for the identification and resolution of information flow, content issues and the transformation of business requirements into logical data models. This position identifies opportunities to reduce data redundancy, trends in data uses and single sources of data. Daily responsibilities could include but are not limited to:
* Develop and maintain the Data-model Architecture across the Enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) program.
* Govern standards for data definitions and manipulation.
* Conduct interviews with business resources to gather requirements.
* Develop Technical Specifications and Mapping Documents.
* Lead ETL Developers in the development of data models and implementation of best practices.
* Present data modeling topics to development teams, internal customers and leadership.
Skills and Requirements
1. 2+ years of experience with data modeling, 5+ total years of experience within IT/Data
2. STRONG SQL experience
4. ER/Studio or similar data modeling tools
Intangible requirements: Can negate problem-solving & conflict resolution, works cohesively with different groups & types of people (technical/non-technical), strong communication & professional demeanor, strong analytical skills. * Industry experience -- financial services
* ETL tools: informatica, SSIS, crystal reports, SSRS, cognos, SSAS
* Experience working with offshore/international groups null
