We're looking for a Data transformation specialist for Metadata Management to:
• respond in a proactive and innovative way to the challenge of sustainably sourcing metadata at scale and using it to generate business value
• think holistically about current metadata management processes and make recommendations for improvements through simplification and automation
• bring an awareness of emerging technologies, tooling and industry trends, together with a practical ability to apply these to data management processes within the firm
• challenge our understanding of why we manage metadata, ensuring that business and regulatory needs are fully addressed, and that shareholder value is at the forefront of everything we do
• lead change management within the Group Data Management Office, driving the continuous improvement of tooling and processes to better support the firm's objectives
• promote a consistent foundational understanding of data management principles and processes across the metadata management team
• drive automation in data management processes and tools by collaborating with IT partners, so as to enable colleagues to focus on more value-add activity

Your team
Automation and PEX is part of the Metadata Management stream within the Group Data Management Office (GDMO). Our team comprises subject matter experts and change agents that employ technology and best practice to drive data risk awareness and a data-centric culture both within the Group Data Management Office and across business divisions and corporate functions. Our team tackles business challenges in relation to Data Lineage, Data Dictionaries, Data Quality, Data Sourcing and Data Controls.
The Group Data Management Office (GDMO) is responsible for embedding a data management culture across the organization by advocating for our strategy and proactively challenging the way the firm works with data. GDMO is made up of approximately 200 people, comprising UBS permanent staff and contractors. In our agile operating model, Streams are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple Crews with autonomous Pods. Your GDMO colleagues are based in multiple locations, including UK, Switzerland, USA and India.

Your expertise
• ideally 5 years of experience within change management and process / business analysis
• strong organization and project management skills, with emphasis on timely delivery, risk and stakeholder management
• experience in solving problems, from root-cause analysis through to solution design and plan execution, with a clear track record in yielding positive results
• a strong understanding of one or more out of data cataloguing, data lineage, data architecture, data pipelines, application interfaces, data integration, data storage
• consulting experience would be beneficial
• ability to drive change across the organization and influence key stakeholders at various levels
• focused, methodical and precise, with strong attention to detail
• collaborative mind-set with the ability to bring teams to work together towards a common goal, listen to different views and facilitate decision making in a proactive manner
• comfortable with ambiguity
• experience of working with diverse workforce or resources located in multiple locations using appropriate communication skills
• excellent problem-solving ability, with a "can do" attitude
• knowledge of Banking or Capital Markets and familiar with current regulations such as BCBS 239, IFRS, CCAR, and an understanding of application data governance and data management (desirable, not essential)
