As a Data Engineering Manager at Paymerang, you will spearhead our data engineering team. You should have a strong background in data warehousing, data lakes, ETL processes, and experience with Postgres and data warehousing technology. This role involves leading a team of data engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support data-driven decision-making, advanced analytics across the organization, and the creation of data products.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices for data integrity, privacy, and security.
Develop and implement data warehousing and data lake strategies to support data analytics and business intelligence.
Oversee the design and development of ETL processes for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
Manage and optimize data retrieval and storage in Postgres and Redshift environments.
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including software engineers, QA, DevOps, and SecOps, to integrate data solutions into the company's architecture.
Establish data governance and quality standards and ensure adherence across the team.
Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in data technology.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a data engineering role with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
Strong expertise in data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL processes.
In-depth knowledge of SQL databases, particularly Postgres, and data warehouse technologies like Redshift.
Experience in managing cloud-based data systems, preferably in AWS.
Proficient in data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in Software as a Service (SAAS) and FinTech a plus
