The Role:
We are in search of a Data Engineer to join the the Information Services (IS) Division within Leidos. This team is responsible for the Supply Chain Integration Platform (SCIP), the IT platform that enables the LCST contract. The Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) within SCIP provides the data platform for reporting and data analysis across the program.
Role Overview:
This role sits within the EDW team helping to build the data platform and ensure the right information gets to the right people at the right time. Working with the Senior Data Engineer you will be developing ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) code to enable data pipelines, as well as monitoring and maintaining the existing platform.
This is a junior role and will provide great opportunities to learn and develop your skill set. Knowledge of specific programming languages or technologies is not a prerequisite for the role, but a aptitude for data engineering and a keen interest to learn is.
The current technology stack used is Datastage for ETL, Cognos for reporting & Oracle as the database itself. During 2024 SCIP will be moving into Amazon Web Services (AWS) bringing with it the opportunities to expand the technology stack we use into new toolsets as we improve our capabilities and offering.
Required Skills:
SQL Knowledge (preferably PL-SQL)
Background in programming with a focus on data
Degree (or higher) with a strong numeric content
Keen interest to develop a career in the data engineering field
Desired Skills:
IBM Datastage Developer (V11 or above)
AWS cloud development experience
Experience of other data pipeline and/or ETL building tools
