JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Harrisburg Campus, The Institute of State and Regional Affairs at Penn State is seeking a Data Dissemination Coordinator to join its team. The Institute of State and Regional Affairs (ISRA) unites Penn State faculty and professional staff to carry out research and data services in the areas of public policy, community planning, information management, and evaluation. ISRA conducts approximately $3-$4 million in annual sponsored research from state, federal, philanthropic, and private funders. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to research projects that transform the lives of Pennsylvanians. This is a term staff appointment funded for one year from the start date with an excellent possibility of refunding.
Job Description:
Perform data collection, manage data, and conduct data analysis for multiple research projects.
Create data tables, charts, dashboards, and other visualizations of results.
Analyze datasets, interpret, and communicate statistical results.
Prepare data files, reports, research briefs, and other data products for research projects, both independently and collaboratively.
Create and deliver public presentations and trainings with other staff.
Respond to and track data requests. Prepare annual report of information dissemination.
Apply research findings to develop communications and messaging.
Create and manage content on the Institute’s website and social/digital media platforms.
Actively promote and disseminate the Institute’s research and events to affiliates, the Pennsylvania General Assembly, media, and other stakeholders.
Manage outreach and special events. Represent the Institute at conferences, workgroups, and other events.
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize projects appropriately.
Typical Experience:
Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to work on multiple concurrent research projects.
Efficient time management, priority setting, and organizational skills.
A commitment to quality and customer service.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, ArcGIS StoryMaps, PowerBI).
Experience with programming languages (e.g., R or Python) is preferred but not required.
Position Level and Requirements:
This position will be filled as a Level 3.
Bachelor’s degree or higher with 4+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
