About the role:
The Customer Operations Engineer is required to work within our Data Centre's as part of a rotating shift team. They are tasked with providing our customers with the highest standards of technical service as required.
Customer Operations are also responsible for providing first level support for facility alarms and issues and in performing housekeeping duties to ensure that the Data Centre is maintained in a first class condition. After receiving orientation and onboarding training you will become a valued member of the Equinix team and will become part of a 24x7 shift roster to ensure the customer success at all times.
Applicants may come from a variety of backgrounds but ideally with a passion, education or work experience within the IT industry. The Customer Operations team play a key role in the success of our daily operations and offers a great work/life balance due to the shift patterns and are entitled 5 weeks annual leave.
Responsibilities
Provide Technical Support services including: Data Centre operations, equipment maintenance and service provisioningSupport Disaster Recovery drills and invocationsInstall and de-install of customer cross-connectionsPerform Smart Hands and tape backup ServicesWarehouse managementReporting facility alarmIncident handling, problem troubleshooting and escalation to upper tierSupervise vendors for work within data center premisesMaintain accurate records, document all problems, and prepare reportsExhibit quality workmanship on all workMaintain the cleanliness of data center
Qualifications
Diploma or Certificate in Telecommunication or IT related area (ideal)High level computer skills including use of Microsoft Office suite of productsHas a 'can do' attitude and approach to workBe able to follow processes efficiently and effectivelyStrong attention to detail and customer service focusAbility to learn fast and work autonomously and in a teamWe accept grads and new to career
