A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
Responsible for engagements and strategic data support with specific Edison Safety program and initiative teams (for example, Safety Observation Program) Determines methods and procedures for new data collection, analysis, and visualization based on requirements and broader data strategies while developing meaningful metrics Collaborates with and assist senior team members on statistical methodologies, data structure considerations and data strategies Collaborates regularly with trend reporting lead to analyze and incorporate program/initiative insights into trend communications Assists in building and enhancing data pipeline and extract, transform, load (ETL) processes Contributes to defining the direction for expanding data links to improve safety management, such as identifying new or existing data sources and exploring safety-related correlations Responsible for development of new dashboards and strategic enhancements of existing dashboards; collaborates with peer advisor to oversee safety data dashboard strategy, milestones, and execution, including alignment with overall safety scope and storytelling using various data sources Guides and leads junior team members in data structure, quality and integrity, analysis and synthesis, visualizations, and communication of data insights Leads the team's contributions to regulatory and public reporting Develops and contributes to automation of standard processes to create efficiencies
Qualifications
The essentials
7 or more years of experience in managing data and performing analysis Experience with analytical, visualization, and automation tools such as Power BI, SAS, Python, R, etc.
The preferred
Strong analytical curiosity Experience presenting recommendations to program stakeholders and facilitating discussion using strong communication skills Advanced technical knowledge including but not limited to, graphing, tables, calculations, querying languages, and automation to process large quantities of data Training or experience with safety programs, injury and incident data, OSHA standards, or hazard mitigation Experience managing medium scale projects or cross-functional teams and ensuring quality outcomes Ability to craft programmatic responses to identified adverse trends
You should know
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
