Experience managing an expert engineering team, and managing managers. Deep expertise in Biometrics, ideally Face and Iris Recognition, with proven industry track record shipping high quality products. 10+ years of professional experience in Software & Algorithm development. Deep technical knowledge in Machine Learning or classic Computer Vision are a must. Signal processing, Optics and/or Mathematics expertise is desirable as well. Strong organizational skills working with large multi-functional teams. Leading this function requires expert collaboration and networking across Apple's connective tissue with high emotional intelligence. Passion for quality and exceptional attention to detail. As an engineering leader you possess great verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated and detail oriented, you're at your best driving projects hands-on. Demonstrated success providing vision and strategy while leading and developing high-performing teams in a dynamic, global organization.

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead Biometric Technology development at Apple. As an expert leading experts, you will head a versatile organization of senior individual contributors and manage first and second level managers with direct product impact across Apple's portfolio. Represent our organization and technology through all levels of leadership while building effective partnerships with adjacent teams. This is a fast-paced role with high visibility, impact, and influence in building the most advanced CV/ML systems in the world.

MS or PhD in Computer Science or related fields with 10+ years of industry experience, or BS in Computer Science or related fields with 15+ years in equivalent industry experience with a track record of leading teams and delivering successful products.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $210,900 and $364,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
