JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
A minimum of 6 months of in-house orientation/training, but not yet considered registry eligible by CCI or Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals.
High School Graduate required, plus health care courses or on the job training specific to Hospital of Medical Office skills is desirable.
Experience
Competency checklist completed by peer trainer. Physician confidence is high to work independently with all procedures to begin call rotation. A minimum of one (1) year experience in a health care setting preferred. Demonstrated proficient computer, written and verbal communication, telephone, and customer service skills.

Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Frequent exposure to mechanical hazards. Operates computer, treadmill, spirometer, telephone, Holter scanner. Frequent standing, walking, bending and stooping. Lifting, carrying up to 20 lbs.
JOB SUMMARY
The technologist performs all aspects of cardiovascular/pulmonary recordings including locating and distinguishing tracings indicative of cardiovascular/pulmonary disorders and recognizes and discounts interference, which affects tracings. Technologist also schedules OP tests in an efficient and timely manner. Responsible for coordinating tests with physician’s schedule and various departments. Works with and has access to confidential patient information. Position requires a high degree of mental alertness and close visual attention to details. Position requires diplomacy and a professional image and manner in dealing with physician offices and SBMC staff.
