Description
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services team is looking for a Principal Customer Practice Manager (CPM) who can lead and support significant customer programs during the solution and pursuit stages, develop a long-term Global Services strategy and execute that strategy within our Greenfield account vertical. The CPM role is a trusted advisor for our customers and includes all aspects of working with new AWS customers including business development, deal structuring, deal support and closure in assigned accounts. Specifically, the Customer Practice Manager will partner with the aligned Greenfield sales team to ensure coverage and focus on accounts to adopt AWS and modernize its software services on the cloud.
AWS Professional Services engages in a wide variety of projects with customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base. We are obsessed about successful outcomes for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered at the right time, and drive innovation based upon customer needs.
This is a customer facing role. You be required to travel to client locations to sell professional services. Travel up to 50%
Key job responsibilities
• Engage customers - collaborate with AWS sales and partner teams to develop strong customer and partner relationships to build a growing business driving AWS adoption.
• Enable cloud transformation - develop long term cloud strategy with customers, identify & develop specific opportunities and supporting business cases, manage issues and risks.
• Support the commercial relationship - plan and implement a portfolio of projects, including budget and proposal construction, including estimates and deal pricing, contract negotiations & execute contracts.
• Be an advocate - work with AWS engineering teams to convey partner and strategic customer feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.
• Think strategically to assess customer marketplace circumstances, organizational readiness, and C-level sponsor willingness to initiate conversations that lead to broader strategic transformation programs.

Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years selling IT consulting/management experience, with IT Transformation in customer-facing roles
• 4+ years experience incubating and positioning next-generation technology solutions with new customers.
• 3+ years experience managing and overseeing the delivery of enterprise IT projects
Preferred Qualifications
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Math background preferred
• Understanding of cloud computing transition challenges
• Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
• CRM experience
• Experience with design of modern, scalable delivery models for technology consulting services
• Strategic business development experience including complex agreements w/ partners and customers
• Broad Enterprise systems experience including SAP, Oracle, and custom applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $146,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
