Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Customer Engineer [Req #G758] in Malta, NY, to: Perform startups through Tier III support, including process qualifications. Analyze qualifications performed on tools, and conduct operational quality (process qualification) of systems equipment, including ability to use customer’s metrology equipment. Plan for and complete all levels of preventative and corrective maintenance within timelines. Troubleshoot key technical issues at the component level. Diagnose and recommend solutions for complex system downs. Use process data to diagnose hardware problems, and resolve some sustaining process issues on well characterized tools. Troubleshoot key technical issues at the component level, with process data and on site data logging. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. Perform complex retrofits. Review procedures and schematics., and identify and correct procedural issues, creating methodologies and procedures as necessary. Anticipate and respond to fabrication (“fab”) issues, including communicating with CE’s in other locations. Drive corrective processes through key stakeholders (PBG, Customer Spec owners, ECO owners, GPS, etc.) or escalate as appropriate, and communicate findings to others, providing suggestions to improve checklists and procedures. Within assigned scope, assist management in operation of site service business. Assist Applied Materials field management in establishing and achieving objectives for assigned accounts. Provide technical guidance to less experienced CE’s on complex system problems including sustaining process issues. Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of system. Travel to client site required.Requirements: Associate’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or an Engineering-related field and 5 years of experience in any occupation in which customer engineering experience was gained. Position requires: 1) Hands-on experience operating and maintain Endura 2 300mm PVD and ALD/CVD Chambers; 2) Diagnostic techniques and the use of documentation and electronics test equipment; 3) In-depth knowledge of chemistry and ALD/CVD process specifically metal deposition on semiconductor device; 4) Troubleshot software and hardware issues on semiconductor equipment; 5) Diagnose electronic and mechanical problems using schematics; 6) Factory automation scenario testing and development; 7) Complex tool/system schematics; 8) Inspection system installation; and 9) Evaluating system quality, performance, and configuration issues.Salary Range: $90,542.00 - $117,705.00 per yearTo apply, please email your resume to Applied Materials, Inc. at [email protected].
