Description
At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and visionary people. Amazon Web Services (AWS) Training and Certification Team is looking for a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented Curriculum Development Manager (CDM) to lead and manage a team of technical and non-technical curriculum developers, instructional designers, and technical lab developers, who are building our technical curriculum portfolio for Entry level Cloud builders from a variety of backgrounds.
The CDM will build effective working relationships to collaborate with stakeholders and their teams, provide workload guidance to reports, provide management oversight on projects, manage communications (both formal and informal), and identify opportunities and propose solutions for simplification and process improvement across the curriculum development team.
Key job responsibilities
• This position will be responsible for leading teams to build new curriculum content. Some offerings are part of larger specialty programs designed for specific learner audiences. You will have the opportunity to help define and execute the strategy for these programs.
• Manage a high performing direct team of technical curriculum developers and instructional designers, working on projects to build high quality learning content that prepares learners for solutions-focused roles. Curriculum may include structured, formal classroom learning, online synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, and hands-on labs.
• Work with Product Management to prioritize and deliver on the curriculum roadmap.
• Communicate with the Publishing, Marketing, Engineering, Training Delivery, and Sales teams regarding project status and timelines.
• Work with project/program management to maintain a dashboard of all project statuses, completion goals, backlog items, and metric tracking for visibility across the organization.
• Provide stakeholder and team communication across all projects.
• Identify process improvement strategies to expedite the production of technical training curricula or improve the quality of materials being delivered.
• Accelerate the shift to a rapid content development strategy by leveraging agile development methods.
