Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Crude Processing and Handling Engineer (Rotational) for COB Processing Facilities in the Empresa Mixta Petropiar. The selected candidate will be responsible for keeping incident free operations while supporting the daily Operations strategy to receive, process, storage and deliver oil production from wells, under stablished quality specifications.
Responsible for the System Capacity recovery Plan, COB organizational capability, follow up to contractor portfolio for the plant, Material Management for process equipment, process optimization and identify/manage competitive performance initiatives. Provides support for daily O&M planned activities for the COB processing facilities, including monitoring of process conditions of Oil dehydration plant, produced water injection pumps, gas compression and control diluent storage and pumping to wells. Works closely with maintenance department to identify, report and track critical integrity issues. Follow up of daily production reports, chemical treatment, and lab analysis.
Candidates selected for these positions will work in a 14x14 rotational Work Shift.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Contributes to safety program, health, and environment protection in order to achieve Incident free Operations.
Executes the strategy to recover the capacity of the systems, prepared by O&M and Process Safety Teams and will be responsible for materials, services, and logistics management required to implement the COB Capacity recovery plan.
Drives daily production operations strategy to achieve key Business Plan targets (production, Opex, IFO, equipment reliability and availability, etc.)
Monitors budgets and expenses (services and materials assigned to O&M) and manpower productivity of Petropiar and the services companies in the COB.
Ensures that LACT units’ system is recovered and operates properly, assuring accuracy in volumetric measurement of Diluted Crude Oil, Diluent and Gas by proper maintenance and calibration.
Follows up to lab analysis and Chemical injection program, avoiding products out of specs and ensuring optimization of chemical consumption.
Identifies/ track Competitive Performance (CP) ideas in the COB that drive improvement. Registration of improvement ideas/projects in CP Tool when needed.
Identifies, reports and follows up on asset integrity issues of critical equipment in the COB.
Provides technical support to Gas compression Team to implement the Major Maintenance Plan (Compressor Overhauling) to guarantee compressors availability and improve reliability.
Enforces operational discipline in Fatality prevention, process safety standards and safe work practices in the COB.
Teams with Reliability/Maintenance to develop programs to improve mechanical availability of rotative equipment through RCM, PM optimization, spares management, and predictive maintenance strategies.
Promotes operational discipline for compliance of Operator Routine Duties and for application of bypassing critical protection procedure.
Participates in cross functional efforts with maintenance, production, operations and Projects to improve equipment reliability and optimization.
Follows up to daily production reports and lab analysis. Prepares reports of System Capacity and Utilization Metrics according to CP wheel.
Coaches and develops employees involved with operation, maintenance and Production projects.
Promotes the identification, prioritization, and execution of GHG emissions reduction (flare/fuel/ venting) efforts.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor´s degree in Petroleum, Process or Mechanical Engineering, or related careers.
At least 15 years of experience in oil &gas industry.
Demonstrates wide knowledge of Process Safety, MOC, maintenance work order management, P&ID and Engineering drawings in work processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Instrumentation and control principles
Competent in Measurement equipment (LACT units).
Has extensive technical experience in heavy oil processing facilities.
Demonstrates knowledge of project management skills based on CPDEP process.
Interacts constructively with and positively influences operations / Maintenance team members, contractors, and partners.
