Description
Amazon North America Stores is seeking a talented, experienced, and self-directed Creative Director to lead our growing number of marketing and retail campaigns across all owned, operated and paid channels within Fashion and Fitness.
The ideal candidate has a strong visual and design background with a passion for and knowledge of contemporary brands. With the proven ability to motivate through vision and a desire to inspire. You have strong organizational skills, web expertise, art direction, typographic skills, and acute attention to detail. You will work closely with art directors, creative directors, producers, and marketing managers to define, develop and implement campaigns that build share-of-heart with our customers.
In this role, you will lead all aspects of fashion and fitness marketing programs—from style guide, wire-framing of storefronts and delivery of all marketing assets. This is a hands-on creative role that requires directing shoots, creating campaign visual standards, directing production designers and building agency briefs.
The successful candidate will have experience in consumer brands or e-commerce leading emotional and consumer-centric campaigns. They need to be successful both in a team environment as well as individual contributors, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. They will have a strong portfolio with a wonderful eye for visual design and a deep skill in typography. A love of working at pace, turning creative imagery into high-quality storefronts and layouts, while managing complex planning schedules, and be flexible to changing priorities.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead strategic and complex design projects that present multidisciplinary challenges and span multiple teams
• Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging trends and digital innovations into creative and marketing strategies
• Present concepts and executed work to internal customers and stakeholders, including senior management
• Establish mechanisms and audit work to maintain consistent brand standards across customer-facing marketing programs
• Work closely with operations teams to scope projects and forecast resourcing needs to build production capacity, communicating needs and trade-offs when appropriate
• Maintain the highest creative and design standards and inform the work with data wherever possible.
• Lead design projects across all marketing touch-points: Amazon Fashion and Fitness digital storefronts, emails, social content as required
• Work from creative briefs to translate marketing strategies to creative execution.
• Collaborate with internal Design and Marketing counterparts in bringing to life seasonal campaigns, which fuse elevated storytelling with best-in-class digital commerce
• Lead, develop, and execute smart, unexpected creative solutions as well as maintain design identity aesthetics per brand
• Seek ways to enhance e-commerce experience (focusing on mobile and responsive design first)
• Proactively use design, UX and prototyping to communicate new inspiring brand experiences
• Exceptionally skilled at art direction, image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout, form and color
• Concept and lead large photo shoots––On figure, on location, in studio, off figure and laydowns
• Attend meetings and track next steps/follow-ups for projects
• Work closely with, communicate and present creative with all key stakeholders and counterparts
About the team
North America Stores Marketing team is the creative, merchandising and content team within the Amazon Fashion and Fitness Growth Marketing and Creative organization. As the team in charge of brand and product presentation we hold relentless creative standards, customer obsession and precise delivery. The team is comprised of merchandisers, stylists, copywriters, designers, data analysts, art directors, creative directors, producers and project managers. We are highly collaborative and work in unison with the goal of making Amazon the customer's number one favorite location to shop fashion and fitness.

Basic Qualifications
8+ years of experience as a visual designer, creative director, design director, or similar creative roles
4+ years of experience leading large projects requiring complex design and art direction.
Knowledge of art direction, typography, image and related design standards for web
A degree in graphic design or related field or equivalent professional experience within a visual creative field
A provided and accessible online portfolio that demonstrates successful user-centered creative across a range of channels, aesthetics, and project budgets
Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch and proficiency with other tools of the design trade
Preferred Qualifications
Self-motivated team player, with refined and effective creative skills
Ability to influence others to set and achieve goals and deadlines
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple parallel-path projects
Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture, art direction and design.
Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for creative decisions
Customer-obsessed and detail-oriented
You are passionate about art direction, design, technology, marketing, retail, and are dedicated to keeping pace with it
You use data and insights to create work that resonates with customers
Exceptional art direction, visual design, layout, image manipulation, and typographical skills with strong attention to detail.
Experience with motion design for web and social
Ability to plan and scope creative projects to work around difficult business, technical, and/or resource constraints.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
