About the Role
We are currently searching for a Counsel, Employment, to be based in San Francisco, California, with expertise in employment law as we continue to launch new products. This Counsel will advise human resource professionals and business partners throughout the United States, as well as manage pre-litigation demands, dispute audits, agency claims, arbitrations, and individual lawsuits.
What You'll Do
Serve as a subject matter expert in areas of employment law with particular emphasis on Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, pay transparency, and pay equity laws.Provide advice and counsel to management and human resources partners on a broad range of employment issues, including recruiting, hiring, employee relations, discipline, terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, contingent worker issues, and internal investigations.Oversee the administration of separation agreements, including ensuring adequate legal review, proper processing, and reporting.Assist with the formulation and revision of employment policies and guidance to ensure consistency of employment practices.Assist with the design of educational programs and tools for human resources business partners on various employment laws and best practices.Actively manage litigation, including demand letters, agency claims, individual arbitrations, and lawsuits, as well as class actions on a nationwide basis.Identify and interpret employment law developments and changes in the law and provide relevant summary communications and recommendations to human resources business partners.Recommend, manage, and implement various projects and programs that support team goals. Ensure projects are completed in accordance with company guidelines, quality standards, budget, and targeted time frame.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience with four (4) years of experience practicing employment law OR Minimum 4 years, including +1 Uber internal experience.J.D. and license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
Preferred Qualifications

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$195,000 per year - USD$216,500 per year.
