DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will function as a lead worker by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of preparation, production, service, and baking. You will ensure proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations, as well as inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards. By recycling leftover food into useable food products, you will reduce the environmental and financial impact of our operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with 30-minute lunch.
Work week will consist of rotating days, weekends, and holidays.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,753.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
You must successfully complete basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
You must pass a background investigation.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
