DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Carpentry Trade Instructor, you will provide on-the-job training and shop instruction for the vocational training of inmates in the carpentry trade. Work involves the instruction in the practices, methods, and procedures of the trade by demonstration, explanation, and close supervision during training and work assignments. You will utilize proper carpentry skills and knowledge of teaching practices to insure proper installation and operation.
You will instruct and assist inmates in the installation and maintenance (including preventative maintenance) of floors, windows, roofs, locks, screens, spouting, and other wooden structures and equipment that pertain to the carpentry trade. You will plan, assign, inspect, and review their work in progress and upon completion for adherence to trade standards. Additionally, you will issue and collect tools, supplies, and materials required by inmate workers and requisition materials, supplies, and equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
